last updated august 2026. this is written by the person who makes uptilltwo, not by a law firm, and it is meant to be read rather than survived.

what you write

it is yours. not ours, not licensed to us, not used to advertise anything. writing something here does not give anyone permission to publish it, quote it, or show it to another person.

nothing you keep private is read by a person or scanned by software. there is no classifier running over your entries, no scoring, no tagging, no automated review. if that ever changes it will be said here first, plainly, before it happens.

nothing here trains anything. your writing is never used to train a model, and it is never sold, rented, or handed to a data broker. there is no advertising on uptilltwo and no plan to add any.

what we can technically see

being straight about this: your entries are not end-to-end encrypted right now, which means the operator of this site could technically read them. they are encrypted in transit and on disk, and nobody reads them — but you should know the difference between “does not” and “cannot”, because plenty of services blur it.

the one exception is the 7am email, which by definition sends your words back to you and passes through an email provider to do it.

free means free

without an account nothing leaves your device. entries live in your own browser storage. clearing your browser data, or losing the device, means losing them — there is no copy anywhere else to restore from.

paying

payments run through stripe. card details never touch this site. $99 a year and $10 a month renew until you cancel; cancel any time and you keep access until the period you paid for runs out.

the $500 seat is one payment and does not renew. “for as long as uptilltwo exists” means exactly that — it is the life of the project, not a guarantee of immortality for either of us.

if something goes wrong or you feel misled, ask for your money back and you will get it. that is easier for everyone than an argument.

if this ends

one person makes this, and one person can stop. if uptilltwo shuts down you will get notice and a window to take everything with you, and the export will keep working through it.

you do not have to wait for that. the take everything button works right now, for anyone, paid or not, and always will.

deleting

ask and everything goes — entries, photos, recordings, account. it is a real deletion, not a hidden flag, and it cannot be undone. copies may sit in routine backups for a short period before they age out.

what this is not

uptilltwo is a place to write. it is not therapy, not medical care, and not a crisis service. if you are in danger or in crisis, please reach a person or a local emergency number — writing it down is not the same as being helped, and you deserve the second one.

fair use of the place

do not use uptilltwo to break the law, to harass anyone, or to store material that is illegal to possess. accounts doing that get closed. nothing publishable exists here yet — if that ever changes, publishing will be a separate, deliberate act with its own rules and its own age limit, and none of it will apply retroactively to anything you already wrote in private.

the boring necessary part

uptilltwo is provided as-is. it is made carefully by one person and it will still sometimes break. keep your own copy of anything you could not bear to lose — that is what the export is for.
